New Infinity Branded Items From Antenociti's Workshop

Following the recent announcement of the UK's Antenociti's Workshop new partnership with Corvus Belli, they've started rolling out some new items for the discerning Infinity gamer out there.

Next week they're releasing sets of these brass "Compass Bar" facing indicators - 25mm, 40mm, 55mm, and 60mm. Due out next week, but no prices yet. Want. Badly.

In addition they're also releasing new resin cast bases in the classic Infinity style of hexagonal pavement patterns, plus these rather lovely Tech-themed bases. £7 for either ten or eleven resin bases (depending on style) is really good value in my opinion, especially when they look that good. I'm not 100% sure if they're new or just re-branded but regardless they're on my shopping list.

No word yet on the promised vehicles, but hopefully these smaller releases are just a taster of the quality of what's to come next.

New Infinity Webzine - Datasphere

I've been on Datasphere as long as I've been into Infinity, but never really got into their forum community for some reason - although it comes highly recommended as an independent Infinity community.

So I was very excited to see that they launched a magazine style website at www.data-sphere.net to cover all sorts of good stuff including news, reviews, army tacticas, and guest pieces from members of the community.

Go visit their site. It's extremely slick and professional and the updates are coming thick and fast!

MayaCast Episode 2 Is Up For Download

I've got to say that MayaCast is already surpassing it's previous incarnation in terms of content, and they're only on episode 2! Download it here.

I'll let you read the content list for the new episode for yourself (go here) but suffice to say the amount of stuff they've crammed into a generous 2hrs49minutes is brain-boggling! Everything from the new model releases, to the 3rd Edition announcement, to painting tips, to a Paradiso batrep! Want something awesome to listen to whilst painting? Thank me later.

One a related note, MayaCast have published a pretty comprehensive selection of images from the English version of Bostria's recent keynote on the 3rd Edition developments.

MayaCast image dump is here.

English 3rd Edition video via Beasts of War is here.

The original O-12 podcast was absolutely instrumental in getting me into Infinity, so seeing the reborn MayaCast going from strength to strength so early gives me a huge amount of pleasure to see.

Fangirling? Moi?

Another Blog Post About 3rd Edition Infinity

I'm a bit late to the party here I suppose, since news of this broke on Sunday.

Nothing firm has been released from Corvus Belli in terms of what 3rd Edition will actually contain or likely changes to expect when it's released later this year. However if you follow the pattern of releases from Corvus Belli for Infinity - books and models - it's clear their game is on a very rapid upward trajectory in terms of how the presentation and feel of their products is improving. For example compare the slightly amateurish artwork and presentation of the current 2nd Edition book with their two more recent releases, the Campaign Paradiso book and Artbook One.

What would I like to see 3rd Edition accomplish?
  • Better translation of the rules to clear up one or two 'interesting' issues with phrasing (currently lush pastures for rule bending rules lawyers).
  • Greater standardization and clarification, continuing what the base size changes have started.
  • Clear guidance on terrain arrangement to bring some partial closure to the persistent argument over what constitutes too little/too much terrain.
  • General rebalance of some slightly wonky points costs of older units that feel pretty much redundant in the wake of some of the sectorial developments since 2nd.
  • Slight nerf of certain abilities that even with the best will in the world in certain situations can feel slightly broken (thankfully not that many in this wonderful game!) - Sixth Sense Level 2 I'm looking at you!
Nothing too shocking in that list I think?

Corvus Belli Updates Infinity Base Size Rules: First World Problems

Today Corvus Belli released guidelines today on what the new base sizes for forthcoming and existing models will be. As expected certain figures in the Infinity community had a nervous break(melt)down over the news.

My First Tournament: Initial Thoughts

Well Saturday saw my first proper Infinity tournament, at The Outpost in Sheffield. Overall it was a great day and a very well run tournament that has stoked my interest in attending more of them in the future.

So let's get into it then. Behold, my ramblings on playing competitive Infinity!

More Music From The Human Sphere

Just a quick recommendation here. If soundtracks and voice-free music is your thing (and it is definitely my 'thing') then I can't recommend the output from the members of Zombi highly enough.

Zombi are a duo who perform electronic soundscapes that can be best described as the sort of music John Carpenter never used on Escape From New York, or Ridley Scott rejected for Blade Runner. Think 80's straight to video action and sci-fi movies but with supremely high quality soundtracks. Outside of Zombi, Anthony Pattera and Steve Moore also perform as Majeure and Steve Moore (!) respectively where it gets slightly more ambient and progressive. However as a soundtrack to Infinity everything they produce fit's perfectly in my minds eye to the universe of the EI and the Human Sphere.

Here's a selection of some of my favourite songs from the duo:

Cats, The Serious Kind, Not Those Horrible Funny Ones.

Hey guys,

Big photo dump from me here! I just got my Wildcat link finished and wanted to post it up. I was pretty happy with how they turned out, just looking forward to getting more done now that I'm back on the painting wagon!

My first ever infiNity model

So after a European holiday that came a day after receiving my shipment of infiNity models, I finally got round to actually painting one of them. The assembly process on my first 200pts of Ariadna was... interesting. No, when I say 'interesting' what I mean is actually 'stressful'.

My first painted model was simply the last one I completed assembly, a Caledonian Mormaer.

Coming from a galaxy far, far, away...

Welcome to Project: Toth, a blog all about the tabletop wargame, infiNity.

Project: Toth will be a collaboration between two long time tabletop wargamers, myself (Mike), and my gaming nemesis, James. We're both completely new to infiNity having played wargames on and off for many years between us. You could call us 'noobs'. I hate that word, but it's fairly suitable in this context.

I've never significantly strayed from the reaches of a certain Nottingham based model company, with Warhammer 40k providing me with countless hours of hobby and game time - so infiNity is a big dive into the unknown and away from the comfortable and secure reaches of the 41st millennium of grimdark and high gothic-ness. James on the other hand has dabbled in many other areas, is a huge fan (like myself) of all things 40k, but also enjoys a slice of fantasy-themed battles once in a while too.

This blog will chart our journey into a completely new realm of skirmish gaming. We'll cover painting, rules, games, terrain, background fluff, artwork, news, reviews... all from the perspective of a pair of brand new infiNity players.

To infiNity, and beyo... sorry. I couldn't resist.
